Why gptpayer exists

A small toolkit, built to stay out of your way.

The idea

Most people don't need a document-management platform — they need to merge two PDFs, shrink a photo, or fix a sideways scan, right now, without creating an account or waiting for an upload bar. gptpayer puts the PDF tools and the image tools people actually reach for in one place, and runs them directly in your browser instead of on a server.

Why "in your browser" matters

When a tool runs client-side, your file never has to leave your device to get the job done. That's not a privacy feature bolted on afterward — it's the reason the tools are built this way. You can read exactly how this works on the Privacy Policy page.

What's finished, and what isn't

Every tool on the homepage is labeled honestly, including what it can't quite do yet. Word/PowerPoint/Excel conversion, PDF protection, PDF/A tagging, on-device summarizing and translation are all live now — alongside page organizing, scan-to-PDF, PDF repair, password removal, PDF comparison, PDF-to-Markdown, HTML-to-PDF/image, a small PDF editor, form filling, and on-device background removal. A few of the newer conversions (PowerPoint round-tripping, PDF-to-Excel table extraction, PDF/A conformance) are first-pass, best-effort implementations rather than pixel-perfect, and their own pages say so plainly. Translate PDF is the only tool that calls out to the internet, since real translation needs a translation service.

Where this is going

The roadmap now is simply: keep tightening the best-effort conversions — better fidelity on PowerPoint and table extraction, and eventually full PDF/A conformance — one honest improvement at a time.
