Frequently Asked Questions

Which barcode format should I use?
For general purpose (shipping, internal tracking): CODE128. For retail products sold in Europe: EAN-13. For retail in the US: UPC-A. For logistics and outer cartons: ITF-14. For libraries and blood banks: Codabar. For pharmaceuticals: Pharmacode.
Why is EAN-13 / UPC-A not accepting my value?
EAN-13 requires exactly 12 or 13 digits (check digit is auto-calculated for 12). UPC-A requires exactly 11 or 12 digits. Make sure your input is all digits and the correct length.
What is the best format for downloading and printing?
SVG is vector-based and scales to any print size without losing quality. For raster use (websites, emails), PNG at 3× or 4× scale is ideal.
How does batch download work?
Enter one barcode value per line in the Batch field, then click Batch Download ZIP. Each line generates a separate PNG barcode, all packaged into a single ZIP file for download.
